2/20/12: The good and the bad. First the bad (it's short!): We can't kill mallards until next fall. The good (this is a bit longer!): The Snow Geese were so thick flying right over the Lodge in Arkansas every morning after the duck season was over that I've decided that we are going to hunt Spring Snow Geese right from the lodge next February rather than later in the spring in South Dakota. I've talked with a number of local land owner and they've confirmed this happens every February and have given me permission to hunt their fields. Add to this the fact that I didn't see anyone hunting them and I sense some fantastic goose hurtin' action. So, if Snow Goose hunting is a part of your game (or even if it isn't!), - let's go!!! We have great accomodations at my newly constructed hunting lodge and a bunch of Snow Geese that haven't been harassed - sounds like the right ingredients for a great hunt!!! See the Snow Goose page in the "hunts" section of this website and contact me if you are interested in a hunt. I'm making the hunt extremly inexpensive for the 2013 Arkansas Spring Snow Goose season just to "shame" you into it.
On to Saskatchewan. As for now, I have one three day hunt available for the 2012 season. The dates for this hunt are from 9/29 thru 10/1. Once this books, i'm full. The 2012 rate for this hunt is $200/hunter/1/2 day. Please see the "Saskatchewan" hunt page on the site for more information.
Finally, we really enjoyed hunting out of the Prairie VIew Lodge of Arkansas once it opened towards the end of the Arkansas season. All the guests remarked that it really improved the quality of the hunt and they can't wait to return. I want to thank everyone who made this beautiful facility a reality and those who came to enjoy it this "opening" season. It was a very special time for me and I'm sure there will be many more over the years to come.
1/2/12: Happy New Years! Each January brings the end to one season and the start to the next. I still have two hunts available for this year in Arkansas. The first is a three day hunt from 1/17-1/19 and the second is a three or four day from 1/23 to 1/26. These are both weekday hunts so hunting pressure will be light and the ducks should work great. If you are interested call me ASAP. Now that the holidays are over, I'm getting alot of calls from guys wanting to get one more hunt in this season. So, grab your shotgun and waders, get out of the house for a few days and come to the Prairie View Lodge and kill some mallards in "balmy" Arkansas.
