Prairie View waterfowling is located in the rolling, pot-hole prairie region of west central Saskatchewan in the heart of the Canadian Central Flyway. This region attracts & hosts vast numbers of ducks and geese of all species each year Prairie View's assigned hunting zones provides one of the largest contiguous geographical outfitting areas on the Saskatchewan prarie, giving us an incredible opportunity to locate and hunt unpressured waterfowl.
While my primary focus is hunting Mallards & Pintail in dry fields, White-Front (Speck's), Canada and Snow Geese are bountiful and are pursued regularly. This region also hosts strong numbers of Hungarian Partridge for those wanting to add an afternoon or two of exciting upland bird hunting to their hunt.
World-class hunting and great accomodations at reasonable prices make this hunt one not to miss. Daily rates for guided hunts start at $200/hunter/1/2 day (5% gst not included). Full day hunts are available upon request at an additional charge. Transportation, lodging, meals, ammo & licenses are not included. Lodging is pre-arrainged by Prairie View based on hunt location for your covenience. Transportation to the hunt location is by private vehicle or fly to Regina, rent a vehicle and drive approximately 1 1/2 hours. licenses will be available upon arrival.

After "wearin' the ducks out" in Saskatchewan at the top of the flyway, it's time to head down to Arkansas and start again at the bottom. With large populations of wintering waterfowl from late November through January, this region provides outstanding Mallard hunting, as well as ample opportunities for nearly all species of puddle ducks.
We hunt exclusively from sunken pits in private flooded rice fields and in our own private flooded green timber, both of which are located immediately adjacent to one of the largest green timber refuges in the state. While Mallards are our primary focus, Teal, Pintail, Wood Ducks and Gadwall providing additional gunning opportunities.
This hunt is a great opportunity for those wanting to extend their waterfowl season each year or those who simply don't have time to hunt earlier in the fall. Morning 1/2 day hunts are the norm due to limited day light hours. However, twice a day hunts can be easily accomodated and still provide ample time for a good hot breakfast or lunch and the "inevitable" nap between morning and afternoon hunts.
Lodging is provided in our own secluded 3 bedroom private lodge that was newly constructed in 2011 and is included in the price of the hunt. Excellent gunning opportunities, cozy accomodations and comfortable temperatures make this hunt a great way to end the waterfowl season. Daily rates for the 2012-2013 season begin at $175/hunter/morning hunt. Afternoon hunts can be accomodated at an additional charge. The daily rate also includes lodging and breakfast. Transportation, ammo, meals (with the exception of breakfast) and licenses are not included. Due to sleeping accomodations, hunt parties are limited to four hunters. Transportation is via private auto to the lodge or by airlines through Memphis, rent a car and drive approximately two hours. Licenses can be purchased on-line or locally upon arrival.
One day it's duck season and the very next it's the beginning of the Spring Snow Goose season in Arkansas. With the Snow geese at or near their wintering grounds, we always have ample numbers of geese to hunt right from day one. As February progresses, more and more begin to migrate to and through the area on a daily basis. I'm always impressed at how many geese fly through our region (not to mention directly over our Lodge) each day and how little hunting pressure is applied to them. As a result, beginning next season, I've chosen to relocate my guided spring snow Goose hunts from South Dakota to Arkansas.
Predictable weather and virtually "zero" hunting pressure will undoubtedly produce solid results. No more "waiting for the thaw", last minute notices to hunt or "ditch hunters" to mess up a hunt. In arkansas, we can now plan to hunt well in advance and know the geese will be there. Additionally, our decoys will be some of the first ones they see since leaving the Gulf coast of Lousiana and Texas. In other words, we'll be getting the "first crack" at 'em at the start of the spring migration and before the "real" education process starts in Northwest Missouri and other popular points northward.
Prairie View Waterfowling relies on the use of 700-900 Sillosock decoys, more than 2 dozen Sillosock Flappers, 1 dozen Feathered Flyers, Four to Five Rotary Machines and various other equipment to lure the wary birds into shooting range. We also use only the highest quality Snow Goose recordings on both of our E-Callers for maximum impact. this setup has proven itself in Saskatchewan and South Dakota, so I am confident we'll experience great success in Arkansas as well.
Inagural season rates for the 2013 spring Snow Goose season will be $125/day/hunter and will include Lodging at our newly constructed 3-Bedroom hunting lodge, a light snack before each morning hunt and morning and afternoon fully guided & outfitted Snow Goose hunts. Transportation, meals, ammo & licenses are not included. Due to sleeping arrangements, we can accomodate up to four hunters at any time. Transportation to the lodge is via personal vehicle or by airlines via Memphis, rent a car and drive approximately two hours to the lodge. Directions will be provided prior to your hunt.
